Affordable Comfort Just Outside the Heart of Leeds

Modern yet unfussy, High Bank Hotel offers a down-to-earth stay just 2 miles from the buzz of central Leeds. Set in a peaceful residential neighbourhood, this practical Yorkshire spot is a favourite for travellers who value simplicity, comfort, and a great location without the downtown price tag. With free parking, complimentary WiFi, and easy bus access to the city centre, it's a convenient launchpad for a gig-filled weekend.

Each room comes equipped with a flat-screen TV, tea and coffee facilities, and either an en-suite or shared bathroom—all with complimentary toiletries. Some rooms even offer city or garden views for a little extra charm.

Why Concert-goers love it

If you're heading to a show in Leeds, you'll appreciate High Bank Hotel’s balance of quiet comfort and proximity to top venues. Direct bus links nearby take you straight into the city centre, so you can skip the parking hassles and late-night taxi costs. After the encore, return to a quieter area—perfect for decompressing. Flexible check-in from 14:00 means you can settle in before the show, and while check-out is at 10:30, the calm residential setting makes sure you’re well-rested.

Who this Hotel is great for

  • Groups of friends looking for a cost-effective base
  • Solo travellers chasing a bucket-list gig
  • Couples making a weekend out of a concert
  • Fans who want a quieter post-show recovery space
  • Budget-conscious music lovers

Food and Drink Options

While there’s no on-site restaurant, guests love the nearby eateries within walking distance that serve late-night bites. For those post-concert cravings, Leeds city centre is a quick bus ride away and has a huge variety of pubs and takeaways. Tea and coffee facilities in your room help kickstart the morning after, and many guests appreciate local cafés for a leisurely breakfast.

Nightlife Options

Want to keep the night going? Leeds city centre is packed with bars, clubs and live music venues, and it's all easily reachable by bus or a short cab ride. While High Bank Hotel itself is a quieter retreat, its location gives you the best of both worlds: party downtown, then recharge in peace.

What People Say

Reviews often highlight the excellent value, friendly staff, and easy access to public transport. Many guests also appreciate the free parking—a rarity this close to the city. Clean rooms and basic comforts make it a go-to for budget travellers attending events in Leeds.

Areas for Improvement

This isn’t a luxury hotel, and some rooms come with shared bathrooms, which may not be for everyone. Décor is simple and a little dated in places, but it’s functional and clean. Breakfast isn't served on-site, so plan ahead if you like to eat early.

The Bottom Line

High Bank Hotel is a smart, budget-friendly pick for concert-goers who want easy access to Leeds venues without the downtown noise or price tag.

Had a great stay there. Was peaceful and the room was very comfortable. We had everything we needed.

Disappointing

Liked: Upgraded to on suit room
Disliked: We’re woken up during the night by another resident who opened the door to our bedroom,we had no idea how that could happen as should have been only one key pad to open our bedroom door.

Poor - 1.0 out of 5

Not so high hitting high...

Liked: Staff polite and friendly, tiling in the bathroom was good, colour scheme good.
Disliked: No air conditioning, room was so hot and for some reason the radiators were on, low but on, in the middle of a June heatwave. Milk was so bad we couldn't finish a tea or coffee, biscuits supplied were broken up in the packets. Water leaked out of the cistern all over the floor when we flushed the loo. The shower didn't work well, just dribbled out and looked scummy on the shower head. Broken lights above bed. Generally tatty, bin all dented up and surfaces scuffed, blinds had to be rolled up or down by hand.

Served it's purpose

Liked: Proximity to city centre was good. Approx £10 in an Uber.Staff are very pleasant and helpful - can tell they work very hard.On-site parking (sort of).Good size room for 3 adults, beds were comfortable.Served it's purpose (a bed for the night) after travelling to Leeds for a gig...
Disliked: Rough accommodation (interior) i.e light fixtures hanging from ceiling, scruffy paint, missing skirting etc.No marked bays in car park so it's a free for all (wasted spaces). Rubbish all over carpark.Broken beds visible at side of hotel - general exterior is very unkempt. Very noisy building, can hear all the other guests inside (the ones above us were walking around until the early hours). None of us slept well. Not suitable for those with mobility issues - vert steep driveway, steep steps upto hotel (no ramp).I didn't like how they sent me a separate link (external to Booking.com) to confirm card details and pay early to 'secure reservation'. This rang alarm bells as could see payment was set up with Booking.com. Anyway, I didn't do it and payment went through as expected upon Check-in.
