American Hotel Hostel

Good but probably wouldn't stay...

Liked: The breakfast, clean showers/toilets, kitchen and rec area
Disliked: The room was very warm, needs a bigger fan or air con for summer. The windows blinds were missing half the slats, couldnt be drawn up or down, basically pointless so the room was not dark at all at night.

Nice hostel for those without...

Liked: Place was clean, staff was great
Disliked: Parking was atrocious in the area making it a difficult place to stay. The area itself also felt dangerous and I was worried about my car. I only ended up staying one night.

This place was priced right...

Liked: Location was great. The room was clean.
Disliked: I would have liked a better pillow and a screen on the window.

Good place to sleep if...

Liked: Great location and felt secure as you had to use your room card to access different rooms and levels.Kitchen and lounge area was great and had lots of seating. There were multiple bathrooms on the 2nd level where I stayed to use. They provide complimentary towel but you have to pay for toothbrush/toothpaste if you didn't bring your own.Continental breakfast is served in the morning which includes, bagels, toast, packaged instant oatmeal and oranges when i was there along with coffee and tea.
Disliked: A few of the blinds in my room were broken so it wasn't completed private as my window faced another room.I liked the sink in my room and the individual fan above the bed as there is no central ac.Some bathrooms were really tiny while others on the same level were much larger. Take a look to see which one would suit you.Wish the bathroom had some hooks or shelving to be able to hang clothing and towels.
