Why Concert-goers love it

Location is everything, and this hostel delivers—steps from downtown venues and just a quick stroll or ride share from the San Diego Convention Center. Late-night returns are easy thanks to the 24-hour reception and no curfew, so whether the encore runs long or the after-party calls, you're covered. Food and Drink Options

While there's no on-site restaurant, guests love the fully-equipped, 24/7 communal kitchen—perfect for late-night snacks or early morning breakfasts after a long night out. Plus, the Gaslamp Quarter is packed with walkable dining spots ranging from taco joints to upscale bites. Free coffee, tea, and hot chocolate are always available to keep you fueled.

Not recommended

Liked: The location is great, the staff is super friendly and helpful
Disliked: The walls are very thin, and you could hear the background music from the common areas, which made it impossible to sleep before 11 p.m. When we arrived, they charged us an additional fee because “the tax had increased” — I find it really stingy that they didn’t absorb the cost themselves, especially considering we booked the hotel with breakfast included, a service they decided to cancel without offering any kind of compensation. Yet they still charged us $13 upon arrival? They mention having partnerships with restaurants, but it’s just one place and only a 10% discount. Unfortunately, everything was already paid for, and canceling would have cost us, not them.

Clean, quiet hostel in the...

Liked: Very clean room and common areas especially the kitchen was a lot nicer than other hostel kitchens I have used in the pastLots of art on the walls, the decor of the hostel has been done with care. There are many small hangout areas in the common areasSafe bike storage inside the hostelFree filtered water and coffee around the clockKind and respectful guests
Disliked: The hostel is very quiet and not many common activities are proposed (only pubcrawl once a week), which did not disturb me but could be offputting for people who expect to come to the hostel to meet many new people. We barely noticed the other people staying in the hostel, guests mostly keep to themselves even in the common areas.
