HI Edmonton - Hostel

Friendly staff, clean, good location.

Liked: The room I was staying in was very clean with plenty of space. The bed was comfortable and big with a lamp on both sides of the bed with a big open window. There was a blackout blind which was nice, a table and a sink in the room. Handy if you want to wash your hands or brush your teeth. The room had a fan which was great to have to keep cool throughout the night. The bathroom was always clean like the showers and toilets. There is a lot of places around the building where you could chill and relax.
Disliked: The breakfast! Although it mentions breakfast is included. The downfall from this was that there was no selection or choice of breakfast. What I was expecting like many hostel, the staff would put out a variety breakfast for you each morning. You could help yourself to a selection of cereals, bagels, waffles, juice, fruit and tea/coffee. Unfortunately for here, there was 2 baskets placed at the reception desk. You could pick up a nutri grain bar and small pack of oats/porridge. That was it! There was a coffee machine in the dinning area so you could help yourself to black coffee.

Effortable accommodation closed to university...

Liked: Location close to Whyte ave and university.Staff best maintaining cleanliness inside the building and room. (Well done)
Disliked: - Parking lot is very sketchy (could have more security or not covered by tree’s branches.- For those who seeks quiet sleep, you will not like the location: you could hear yelling, siren, unhoused fighting during the night

Liked: Was in a good location. Plenty of shops, food places and buses in walking distance. Was kept clean at all times.

OK hostel

Liked: Nice kitchen and other facilities, recycling on site.
Disliked: The room was extremely basic and guests sometimes did not bother to flush the common toilet.
