meh
Liked: breakfast was good, but pretty limited vegan options. the house had a historic feel to it.
Disliked: it was not very clean. bedroom floor was dirty and we saw a cockroach in the bathroom. also, there are no locks on the bedroom doors when you leave, although there is a safe to put valuables and it locks from the inside. it wasnt a terrible trip but I wouldn't stay there again.

A wonderful place on the...
Liked: I liked absolutely everything. The house is wonderful, interesting and very comfortable. The host of the house is also wonderful. He takes care of the guests in probably the best possible way. It is worth asking him about local attractions and places worth visiting. Delicious breakfasts even for vegetarians - very much appreciated and warmly greeted!
Disliked: That I could not stay longer

Liked: The HH Whitney House was a perfect home base for my first Mardi Gras. Glen made delightful breakfasts, provided excellent recommendations for things to do and see, and overall made me feel totally welcome.

Wasn't Worth My Money
Liked: Not much.
Disliked: The old house is in an awful location. Its a very dangerous walk to the main attractions. As soon as my brother and I walked in it smelled like cat pee. And the house seemed to be in a disorganized mess. Essentially there's no security for your belongings. And no proper lock on the room doors. The only assurance we had was the owner "doing this for 26 years". There is a safe in the room but that wasn't enough for me. The walk through and history given to us about the house was incredibly quick and vague. The owner was in a way rude to me and talked over me, called me by a different name. But for some reason he was more respectful of my brother, even though I'm the one that paid. I paid for us to stay in the larger room with the balcony, and that's the only way to get your own private bathroom in the house. There's no good view due to the location and the entire house you can feel is lop-sided while staying in that room. The small snack bar is available to all rooms and it was rarely replenished with a sufficient amount of coffee. The owner made a small breakfast for us but there's no organized system to it. The other bed and breakfasts I've stayed in have a slip you fill out and have a set time for each room. And the house needs to be updated severely. The owner I believe should take care to higher-out and have a team to help run the place sufficiently.

Excellent host, couldn’t be more...
Liked: Very old fashioned & gives you a feeling of what NOLA would have been like back in the day!
Disliked: Pool could have been a little cleaner, but we were not there to swim & it was at the end of the summer, so not an issue.

Exceptional
Liked: Glen was a great host! He was very welcoming and helpful when we were asking about different things to do or places to go for cuisine. The house is 158 YEARS OLD! Blew our minds. Breakfast was yummy and he always had fresh towels ready for us but didn't interfere during our stay in his home, and was always available if we needed him for whatever reason. We walked to the French Quarter everyday, only about 10-15min walk to get there. We also wanted somewhere that would accommodate a vehicle and he let us park it in his driveway! There was on street parking available as well sense we wanted to explore beyond only New Orleans during our stay. Next time we come back we want to bring our whole family and stay with Glen! 5 STARS!

For us... the best place...
Liked: I would like to start by thanking Glen for his treatment, kindness and professionalism. Apart from the fact that he is a Michelin star chef prepared the breakfast. A dedication and a lot of love in those delicious breakfasts, with a perfect tie. Then, the house does not lack detail and the perfect location. Glen! Save us the bottle of Champaign we will be back!!! Thank you so much for everything ! Maryna & Jose
Disliked: Sincerely.... Nothing to say !
