Liked: The staff were very friendly , pleasant and helpful. The breakfast was very good with plenty of choice for hot and cold. The location is excellent, next to railway station , ten minutes walk from town centre, lovely canal walks and park right behind hotel .
Disliked: Next time I will choose a bigger room in this hotel with more privacy for shower, toilet and wash basin .

Excellent break, very happy with...

Liked: Location is great, short walk along the canal towpath to the centre of town, staff were lovely, polite and friendly. Food was excellent, well cooked and plentiful.
Disliked: Bathroom a little small, but shower great.Bit noisy above function room.

Liked: All the staff at Herriots are absolutely delightful! What a lovely, friendly and efficient team! Each one of them adds to making your stay as happy as possible. Skipton is a little village, not a metropolis, so it would not be fair to expect The Ritz. It’s quaint and country’ish, quirky and English.
Disliked: I stayed in a canal-facing room but it was incredibly hot regardless of the weather outside. I kept the doors open and the fan running 24/7 but it didn’t help. Unfortunately if the room is too hot it affects everything from sleeping to relaxing. I was too tall for the shower head which was a bit awkward. The lift was out of order and my room was on the 2nd floor so if you are elderly or physically impaired, it will be a challenge.

Liked: Good location and lovely food.
Disliked: Run out of real ales so unable to have a drink on the last day. I do not drink lager. Disappointed as I had rung the hotel in advance to make sure they had bitter and was assured they did. Unruly kids in the bar after 8 o’clock when we were trying to have a quiet dinner. The parents had no control and the bar staff couldn’t do anything to stop them. Was annoying.

Liked: Good location opposite the railway station. Lovely room looking out onto the canal. Very good breakfast and evening meal. Helpful and friendly staff.
