Set in 4 acres of beautifully landscaped gardens this Victorian country house spa hotel and restaurant offers award-winning cuisine and a brand-new spa opened in 2008. Privately owned and run Hempstead House Hotel & Restaurant is a traditional English country house hotel surrounded by the glorious Kent countryside. The luxurious rooms with attached bathroom are all individually designed with modern facilities including high-speed WiFi internet access. The hotel features spacious elegant reception rooms and 3 bars. The delightful classical restaurant Lakes offers award-winning food and professional but friendly service. The new AquaManda Spa and fitness center has superb relaxation and leisure facilities including a sauna a steam room and a 15-yard swimming pool with hydrotherapy pool. The fitness studio offers a full range of classes and a fully equipped state-of-the-art gym. The therapy suite offers 5 spacious treatment rooms and a relaxation lounge. The extensive gardens and terraces make an ideal setting for al fresco aperitifs and dining on summer evenings. In the winter months guests can enjoy the warmth and comfort of the roaring log fires. Located on the main A2 road near the cathedral towns of Canterbury and Rochester and historic Leeds Castle Hempstead House is also very close to the ports of Dover and Folkestone. The Eurostar terminal is also about 30 minutes' drive away and London can be reached within an hour by rail.

An excellent hotel

Liked: My first cooked breakfast was a little too oily for me, but I just had poached eggs thereafter.All staff were very accommodating and did all they could to meet any requests.The spa swimming facilities are excellent.There is a lift in the hotel.
Disliked: The evening meal in lakes restaurant was too rich for me - but there was nothing wrong with the presentation.

Wonderfull hotel

Liked: A gorgeous hotel in the countryside , kent. Spacious room. Elegant decoration. Just my favorite style. The spa was great . It was also open till 9pm. So not like other hotels, that till you arrive to the place, the spa is already close. Lovely breakfast and dinner.Beautifull garden around. The public space are lovely as well with a burning fireplace. Will defenately come again

Lovely hotel and spa, staff...

Liked: Lovely breakfast, We had a fabulous room that they changed for us especially after I requested a room change due to a superstitious number my mum wouldn’t stay in. Reception so helpful and quickly sorted this out for us. The alternative room given was amazing and overlooked the gardens at the back with a beautiful view. The bathroom newly decorated. The spa was amazing and I loved the little jacuzzi/small swimming pool outside which was in an overly spot of the garden where you could look out and see various birds flying through trees. The place is spotless. The staff were all incredible, friendly and professional with just the right amount of attention.
Disliked: The food served in the spa/menu was just ok and they didn’t do cream teas or cakes saying that these needed to be pre-ordered.
