This is a nice, quiet...

Liked: We had a suite with a kitchen and it was well stocked and very comfortable.
Disliked: We would have appreciated a couple of towel racks or hooks in the bathroom as it was small and there was nowhere to hang small towels and washcloths.

Quite pleasant with some disappointments.

Liked: Location tremendous. Within reasonable walking distance of everything. Property is well maintained and clean. Onsite parking availability wasn't a problem. Calm, quiet location. Dutiful, satisfactory staff.
Disliked: Last time we visited, couple of years back, the room we had was spacious. This room was located in what is now the older part of the property. This time, in the newer part of the hotel, the room was cramped, dinky; the bathroom especially so. We could barely move around in it. Overall, the room was a very poorly designed use of space, oddly angular and claustrophobic. The sole object seeming to be to cram as many units into one floor as possible. Parking now costs. This wasn't the case last visit.

Home away from home!

Liked: The location is perfect! Walking distance to Beacon Hill park, James Bay shopping and restaurants, beaches along Dallas Road, downtown shopping and restaurants. Large suites, well supplied kitchenette, and a bathtub!
Disliked: There is no elevator. I didn't mind this, but if I was travelling with someone with mobility issues, this would have been a problem. Check before booking. Pedestrians walking by late at night can be a little noisy, but this is beyond the hotel's control.

Liked: The location was the best . We have stayed at the Helms Inn many times over the years and are never disappointed .
Disliked: There were 2 steps up to the one bathroom , which we thought were quite dangerous . We had to ask for a step stool for 2 of us to get into the beds The location of the safe was way too high , need to be 6 feet tall to use it
