10/10 would come back!

Liked: We had the pleasure of staying here in Mid-July for the 3 nights over a weekend! Lovely theme of lime and brown throughout which gave a nice crisp and fresh feel. Our room was comfy, clean, cosy and warm. Shower and bathroom were also very clean and modern. Very comfortable and happy to have stayed. The Owner and staff were always around when we headed out or came back home and were interested, attentive, friendly and always up for a bit of banter so we felt really welcome and couldn't have asked for better of them. The garden/smoking part has great seating and colour-changing mood lighting which makes it a lovely place to chill out with a cuppa of an evening when it gets a bit darker and you can reflect on your day a bit. Another lovely thing about the Helix is that yeah, maybe the outside isn't the 20th Century Fox advert with bells and whistles and spotlights BUT you're guaranteed a good nights sleep, a quiet location, easy access to whatever you need in the shops nearby AND you're gonna get to meet folks of at least one other culture or nationality. Thank you for having us - we would definitely come back :)

Liked: staff were very nice and helpful directing us to near by restaurant and tesco
Disliked: Hot day, no A/C only small window to open so room was boiling hot.We had issue with the shower, we had only supper boiling hot water couldn't take a shower and till staff came to check,we had to leave and continue our trip.

Disliked: All of it. The pictures are pre covid so now there is no food or bar. Just a basic room

A pleasant hotel with a...

Liked: it was a nice little hotel . It was easy to get in and out of the place . Will stop here again if I’m to travel up Scotland Receptionist Emma is really nice . So hopefully she’ll be still there next year ?
Disliked: nothing to write here

Liked: Ignore the look of the hotel from the outside - our room was newly-refurbished and very clean (as well as being enormous!). Shower was excellent.
Disliked: We asked for a twin and it was made up as a double. Mattresses were a little saggy.

Good value for money &...

Liked: On the whole my stay was lovely. A couple of things could be addressed. Bed was squeaky & a little tooSoft for me. Shower good, although larger people would struggle to squeeze through the shower door & it was a big step up. Otherwise room was fine
Disliked: Door to shower was very small & big step in to it , squeaky bed & floor boards
