Cheap but disappointing
Liked: The room had a cool atmosphere to it, it was different from your standard hotel room.
Disliked: I was told that our special request could be met - which was a room with a bath, and we did not receive this. Our bed was two single beds pushed together which meant they kept slipping apart, this feels like a real shame when we booked a double bed. The bathroom was awkward and a weird way for it to be laid out. There was no view from our bedroom, we opened the curtains and it was a wall outside!!

Nice premises let down in...
Liked: room was lovely
Disliked: I left my tooth brush (v expensive) contacted hotel where a guy confirmed they had it and I could collect at any time. So I made another trip to London taking up a whole day to fetch said item. On arrival a guy with very short hair couldnt then find it. Said he would contact me when he had. However I knew this wouldn't be the case as he didn't attempt to take my name or details. So I made sure he took the details. spent the day in London awaiting his call which of course never came. I checked again with the hotel who rarely answer the phone as you have to leave a message. but of the three messages I left they didnt respond once. Great hotel let down by the approach to its customers and the details. Sadly this attitude had a direct consequence on my bank balance and them wasting my time.

Really good deal
Liked: The staff are super friendly. We checked in early and they let us in as there is an available room. They were also hospitable when my demanding friend asked for a few extra stuff, such as room slippers or ask for the microwave, which is not supposed to be supplied. A staff even microwaved the takeaway food for her and put in a nice little dishes. The room is nicely decorated, with compact appliances such as fridge and kettle. It is a little bit out of town as it is 30 mins to Kingcross, but so close to the metro. With the price we paid, can't ask for more.

more like a budget hotel
Liked: Staff were relatively friendly but unable to actually help or solve any of the issues we had while there
Disliked: It was a really hot day and get to the hotel to find there A/C had broken in all the rooms, the windows in the room did not open so was provided a small heater that could be used as a fan. We went out for a night out and on return none of the electrics were working in our room, was made to feel stupid until two men came up to our room and found that a fuse had blown all the circuits so not only could we not open the windows to let some air in we couldn't get the fan to work either because all the electric in our room was bust. The toilet and shower are in what look like built in wardrobes so you could not see as the lights were not working. We had upgraded to a superior room, nothing was superior about the room i would have had a better night at a budget hotel. The alarm was set off in the early hours by another guest (not their fault but disturbed sleep) and was woken around 6am with some car music and lots of people talking they were openly drug dealing outside of the hotel on the street. Safe to say we checked out as early as we could and went home, dissapointed. I am pleased that i had a trial run before booking this again for after i had sugery at the hospital down the road as i will avoid at all costs ever again!!

An absolute disaster!
Disliked: So we booked a room in advance, went to check in after a 2 hour drive for them to turn around and say they had no rooms available and that they booked us in another hotel 15 minute drive away with no means of transport to the other hotel. This was apparently our issue and we would have to pay for a taxi to get to the alternative place. We were outraged and upset, after an hour and a half of venting our frustrations with two ill equipped poorly trained members of staff who quite clearly had no experience or power to help us. We finally managed to talk to the general manager on the phone and he offered us a room with no running water and a refund we had little option but to accept this offer as we were stranded with nowhere to stay. Our whole experience with this hotel was little short of a disaster. The hotel is certainly not at a 4 star level and is at best a shambles. Book there at your own risk but be prepared to encounter a terrible lack lustre experience and potentially a room where you can?t flush the toilet or have a shower!
