Loud!

Liked: The bed was comfy.
Disliked: I travelled for work, after a long day of meetings I wanted to go back to a quiet room. Too relax. From 5:00pm until 8pm I endured blasting music from downstairs. I thought it was a function, went to check. It was a lone member of staff blasting his music! I politely asked him to turn it down, it made no difference, thumping through the floor. Hours of it! He dragged chairs across the floor also, pick them up ! He just seemed like he didn’t care about his job or the people in the hotel. I have stayed before and always had a pleasant time. This time, the staff need training . It was horrible .

Comfortable stay at Heath Cottage...

Liked: The room was tastefully furnished. A very large bed with superior bedding. The decoration of the room a little dated but in good order. The hotel was easily accessible from the town centre. The bed was so comfortable that I didn't want to get out of it the next morning.
Disliked: There was no lift. The receptionist carried up my suitcase when she saw I was struggling. The restaurant was closed because of a private function. I was directed to a fish and chip shop up the hill, which I walked to because I had been driving all day. In fact, The Spinners was indeed a fish and chip shop, but it also had a licensed restaurant next door where I was able to purchase a vegetarian lasagne that was delicious. The restaurant was modern and the staff was courteous and helpful. I went to bed at 9 pm because I had done a lot of travelling from Bedford to Huddersfield and then to Dewsbury. I was setting off the next morning early to drive to Hull. The function was noisy but finished at a reasonable time. I struggled to get any warm water out of the shower. So I couldn't wash my hair and just had a lukewarm shower, which was disappointing. There was no breakfast except for a breakfast bag to go. I don't eat cereal bars, and it didn't seem worth buying for the remainder. I wasn't told about checkout facilities and handed my key to the cleaner.
