Exceptional
Liked: Outstanding complimentary self-serve breakfast. Hot scrambled eggs, sausage, waffles, fresh fruit, bagels, cereal,oj, milk and coffee, all managed by staff who kept everything tidy and clean. Also, a complimentary self-serve light supper was offered Tuesday-Thursday 5-7 pm to welcome weary travelers.

Comfortable.
Liked: Very well kept, comfortable chair in room, breakfast attendant who will make a waffle for you.
Disliked: The property is not new but everything is very well kept and it is great value.

Best place when visiting the...
Liked: The Heartland is an amazing place to stay if you are there for the U of I hospitals and clinics. The staff makes it easy for anybody who has to be at the hospital. The shuttle driver was amazing. He made sure that I made it to River Landing and came back to pick me up I could make my appointment at the U. I don't think that is a typical drop-off. My car did not start and after a series of issues with getting it dealt with, the hotel let me stay in the lobby til it was all taken care of. They were very generous and helpful. Oh, and Jethro's next door is a nice addition.
Disliked: The hotel could use a facelift. It is starting to show its age.

We will try another hotel...
Liked: Breakfast was decent. Good price for the room and great location for the hotel.
Disliked: The pillows were flat and then they only gave us two each. We needed both just to sleep. We had trouble with getting in the room with our card. We went down to the front desk and they said they called maintenance but no one ever showed up to fix the problem. They thought it might be the battery. We just didn't leave the hotel again because we didn't want to bother them with having to use the universal key to get us in each time.
