Disappointing, no effort in customer...
Liked: Bed was comfy, nice toiletries in bathroom.
Disliked: I booked and paid through booking.com, at check in was told not asked, it wasn’t optional had to leave my credit card details including security details written down Juliet in case of incidentals, breaching international mandatory PCI DSS standards, Australian - Privacy Act (1988), outdated & really poor business practice. The staff except 2 were rude & didn’t seem like they wanted to be there, everything seemed inconvenient. 5 tables in restaurant on 2 night, 3 staff, people waiting 30 minutes after a meal to have plates removed, no questions if you’d like anything else. No vegan options on menu. Adapted an option, very salty. No availability first night from 3pm, waited 15mins to put name down, staff just walked past, standing at booking table. Customer service very ordinary. No safety non slip in the bathroom, slipped in shower hitting my head, noise to be expected it’s a pub, so don’t expect to sleep even with ear plugs until 11pm, if you need to sleep stay elsewhere. Found a few bits of rubbish behind bed when looking for power point for charges, so not cleaned well. Overall presents as cute little old pub in good location, not impressed by anything it had to offer. Unfortunate experience.

Lovely old pub for the...
Liked: The value for money was wonderful (we got a nice weeknight bargain through the app). The room was simple but felt luxurious, with nice linen, a king-sized bed and a minibar. Lovely pressed tin ceiling. The balcony that runs across the front of the bar is shared with other guests; it has an indirect but beautiful view of the sunset, and gorgeous late-afternoon sun (in winter). We stayed on a Monday in school holidays and it was very quiet. Icy July weather but the room was cosily heated (no electric blankets). Staff were very pleasant and helpful. The shared bathrooms were spotless and the shower was a big double one. Only one shower (with toilet) and another toilet for the floor, but I didn't see a soul the whole time, although at least some of the 5 (I think?) rooms were booked. The hotel is a nice old Victorian building with old rippled glass in the windows and creaky floorboards. It is immaculately renovated but retains its old-timey feel, it's not too gussied up or sterilised.
Disliked: Location is right on the main drag which is great for eating and getting supplies, a little noisy on the balcony though.
