Comfortable room, bit noisy early...

Liked: Loved the size of the room - the view out to cricket pitch was also good.
Disliked: Didn't like being woken up at 7am on Sunday morning by the cricket pitch organising for a match. Didn't realise that would be the case and we were late back on Saturday night having attended a wedding. Also, I am on medication and had asked before my stay for early check in so that I could access a fridge, which was denied - fair enough, however I then asked if I could store my medication in a fridge if I just dropped my bag off and nobody got back to me.

Great location for what I...

Liked: The free parking and how you are informed at the time of booking makes it out that you are in close proximity of the lodge reception. What actually happened is your are allowed in to the car park in front of reception then once checked in you have to move your car to car park 'F' which is some 300 yards down by the Rugby Stadia. The room smelt as of smoke as in tobacco as well as the bathroom smelling of stale urine. I didn't mention to reception as I was only there one night and was in and out to attend a gig which was the purpose of my trip.
Disliked: The situation of the car park been away from the lodge as on my day of departure there was no way of bringing my car to the lodge reception as there was a cricket match taking place so had to traipse my luggage and personal effects some 200-300 yards to a different location. Also the smell of smoke as if someone had been smoking in the room-stale tobacco and the smell of stale urine in the bathroom.

Good rooms but significant drawbacks

Liked: Room was spacious clean and shower was good. Bed was comfortable. Great view of the pitch which was great in the morning when they were setting up for game later that day.
Disliked: Parking was horrible in a remote car park that was a 6 minute walk from hotel because there was meant to be a game yet the car park in front of hotel was empty. A man who was checking in before us asked if he could park outside but was refused. We discussed the security and were told there was CCTV and the car park was locked at 11.00 untill 6 so was secure.(no thought of anybody coming in late) On returning to car park to collect more things we had to pass a group of youths drinking at 5 o'clock sitting on the wall outside of car park gate. My wife did not feel it was safe and insisted that we leave and go and park in a secure location that resulted in us using Uber back an forth adding to cost. This coupled with no eating facilities on premises or locally open on an early Sunday morning meant that we won't be returning.
