Very happy with the hotel...
Liked: The staff was excellent, the location to the Tottenham underground was a short walk and it was surrounded by great pubs and restaurants!
Disliked: The water faucets were separate hot/cold spigots in our room, but we adjusted.

Great stay in unique place
Liked: Loved how unique the hotel is, all it's quirky layout and furniture, uneven floors and almost victorian bath, real fire in the fireplaces and an honesty gin bar. Staff was excellent and very helpful, breakfast great (and can be made vegan). Bed was very very comfy.Location is great, lots of bars and restaurants nearby, very lively area.Don't forget to read the history of the hotel provided in the room, believe me, it will make you appreciate the place even more.
Disliked: The only thing I can imagine being better is the toilet - both the position thereof (no place for the knees!) and the toilet itself (it's weird to sit on it, and the necessity to close the lid when flashing is annoying). But it's not critical at all, and the cleaning of the bathroom is excellent.

Magnifique. Sheer Luxury, 18th Century...
Liked: Antiques. Furnishings lovely. Atmosphere very nice, peaceful. Staff very nice, helpful.. Good to meet Matt, one of the proprietors, last day. Love to stay here again.
Disliked: Large bathtub w hand held shower, old English style. No good for older guests, us. Bed high to get into easily, at my height, 5'2". A step was needed. Change of room, Joseph Banks, much better, shower great. The sink had an (overlooked) large crack in it, strangely.. Milk & tea, replacements forgotten twice or thrice. (Paying a lot for this stay, said to be all perfect). Most annoying, one person, a lot of banging of doors, between two rooms next door. On AM of leaving, in and out, back and forth, crash each time. For up to half an hour, more. Rang reception, yelled out at him, for god's sake ! Didn't stop much, but it finished at last. Saw him exiting from one room to other.Turned out to be the handyman-cleaner, the Elephant Man in demeanour of "working". Met him downstairs on leaving. Very inconsiderate, swift kick up the fundament for him.. He smiled at us when we met in the lobby downstairs, as if ha-ha. Not funny.Reception staff were ALL great, most efficient, all very helpful.

Liked: so much character and I enjoyed reading about its history. I also enjoyed the little touches such as complimentary coffee on arrival.
Disliked: bit too expensive and the fire alarm went off at 2 am

Liked: It felt like a home away from home. Staff were kind and accommodating. I will definitely be back.
