Nice place to stay

Liked: The property was in a great location close to transport to be able to get around
Disliked: Could be more bathrooms and also benches to be able to sit around. Also free wifi would be great too.

Disappointing

Liked: The rooms are clean and the water is hot. Plenty of utensils and fridges.
Disliked: The Hay St Backpackers used to be one of the best places to stay in Pertg with one of the few pools available and in the heart of a busy area. It's been acquired by overseas owners, no more reception, no staff on site, no pool and no furniture you have to eat in your room which encourages ants and cockroaches. Hay Street is a ghost town and there's nothing to do.

Great stay

Liked: Very basic but has all you need, overall a very satisfying stay. Comms via booking.com was quick & effective. The housekeeper was a lovely chap. However a few odd characters about.

Full of cockroaches

Liked: On the one hand the kitchen is full of cockroaches, from everything I have moved there were several cockroaches coming out from there, it is a bit disgusting to cook there. On the other hand, there is no space to eat, there are no chairs or tables, so I had to eat in my darkroom because I had no windows. Cleanliness in bathrooms and showers was ok. But it's not worth the price paid.

Recommended for a quiet night

Liked: Quiet in a way there isn’t social events or parties happening, just workers. Perfect for a quiet night near the city with parking next to it (about 30 bucks for a full day). Clean. Facilities are essential nothing fancy nothing colourful if you are looking to meet people and get involved in Perth events definitely pick another hostel. Also no reception it is self checking which was perfect for my needs but might not be for someone else.
