Liked: It was so close to all the shops. Easy to navigate! The hotel itself was so beautiful. I love how they preserved some of the old style with a few modern updates.

A Hotel with Character.
Liked: The Hawthorne is an older but modern hotel with a lot of history. The reception displays grandeur. Tavern on site is good but can be very busy. Free parking on site a huge bonus. Free coffee in the lobby. Salem Common across the road for a nice walk. Close to activities.

Disappointed in salem
Liked: That it was in Salem. One nice bartender Allison. Pretty lobby . Great location.
Disliked: Heat wouldn't turn off had to open windows during a storm. Front desk staff, unwelcoming, uninformed with hotels procedure s, after checking in with our dog , the night before the next night we came in from walking our dog and the woman at the desk started yelling at us to register the dog, ummm that should have been done when we checked in!! Our room overlooked the fire escape and a roof, booking said nice views. Our room had a strange huge closet? No refrigerator. And I'm not a tourist, born and raised in Salem so check the attitudes. We were there for a funeral. Also maid spoke zero English. Won't stay there again.
