A 10-minute drive from Oban with its stunning horseshoe bay on the Firth of Lorn this B&B has free Wi-Fi and free parking on site. It is located on 20 acres of private land 10 minutes' walk from the sandy Tralee Bay beach. Breakfast at Hawthorn Self Catering Cottages is personally prepared each morning and the menu features homemade bread and preserves scrambled egg smoked salmon and cereals. Home-cooked evening meals are also available with food made from fresh local produce. Rooms are traditionally furnished and some look out over the B&B's grounds or distant mountains. Features include a flat-screen TV tea and coffee making facilities and a bathroom with free toiletries. On the west coast of Scotland Hawthorn is a good base for guests wishing to explore the picturesque Highlands. Boats to the nearby islands can be taken from central Oban and the village of Benderloch is less than 1.2 mi away.

Exceptional

Liked: Spacious. Well equipped with all items we could want. Excellent restaurant just steps away. Easy short drive to Oban.Host helpful and friendly..
Disliked: Nothing. Tiny tip. Oven gloves would be a handy little addition.

Amazing stay

Liked: We stayed for two nights and traveled to Fort Williams area and Glenfinnan Viaduct. The property is at a very scenic location and lots of space to sit in the open and walk around. Ample of parking space. Iain (Owner) is so nice and took good care of us. The area/village is quite scenic with a small shopping place, cafes and lots of parking space everywhere. There is an amazing beach as well just about 1 km from the property.
Disliked: Nothing, but you do need a car to reach here

Great base near Oban

Liked: Ian and Meng were very welcome. Ian was knowledgeable and helpful, giving us lots of useful tips to make the most of our time in the area. The beach at Tralee is just beautiful, and only around ten minutes' walk from the property. The beds were comfy and the living room was very cosy.
Disliked: It would be great if there was a bath mat and oven mitts. Otherwise, spot on!

Quiet and peaceful countryside cottage

Liked: The cottage was clean, quiet, and had everything we needed for a comfortable stay. Outside it is a quiet and peaceful countryside setting. Location is great if you're looking for a functional base to explore the nearby area. We stayed for 2 nights and was able to explore Glencoe surroundings and Oban on the opposite end.
