A 10-minute drive from Oban with its stunning horseshoe bay on the Firth of Lorn this B&B has free Wi-Fi and free parking on site. It is located on 20 acres of private land 10 minutes' walk from the sandy Tralee Bay beach. Breakfast at Hawthorn Self Catering Cottages is personally prepared each morning and the menu features homemade bread and preserves scrambled egg smoked salmon and cereals. Home-cooked evening meals are also available with food made from fresh local produce. Rooms are traditionally furnished and some look out over the B&B's grounds or distant mountains. Features include a flat-screen TV tea and coffee making facilities and a bathroom with free toiletries. On the west coast of Scotland Hawthorn is a good base for guests wishing to explore the picturesque Highlands. Boats to the nearby islands can be taken from central Oban and the village of Benderloch is less than 1.2 mi away.

Overall relaxing

Liked: How helpful the host Erin was along with how peaceful the cottage was. There also super cute sheep and lambs right outside our window. It also great that the beach was just a couple minute walk away along with Oban being right down the road.

Good stay, nice location, wanted...

Liked: Nice location. Very nice couple running the place.
Disliked: A little worn around the edges. We did not travel with towels but only needed to ask for them after we arrived.

A lovely quiet place to...

Liked: It was clean and comfortable and being met by the owner on arrival for him to explain everything was greatly appreciated. The outlook across the paddock to the hills was beautiful.
Disliked: Nothing
