The stay was a treat...

Liked: The location is amazing. The building is beautiful and the historical aspects of the house are very interesting.
Disliked: The room was very small and the windows were frosted. The window would only open a few inches and the view was over the kitchen and the rubbish bins. The extractor from the kitchen was both noisy and smelly which was unpleasant, We had expected to eat dinner in 'Hills Kitchen' the more relaxed of the restaurants but were told that the menu is unavailable although that is not the information on the website. Had we been staying any longer we would have refused to stay in that room. I find it difficult to believe that it would cost almost £200 to stay in such a small room without a view particularly as we were told the next morning that the hotel was not busy. Surely this room should be a last resort and at a discount price.

Beautiful property and gardens with...

Liked: Beautiful property and grounds. The staff without exception were amazing. Excellent friendly service. We had dinner in the evening and both the food and service were exceptional
Disliked: We found the bedroom was very warm but a free standing fan was provided. At home we have super king beds and found the standard double very small. We would definitely consider upgrading in the future
