The hotel looked better online...

Liked: The hotel is in the French Quarter and you can easily explore from there on foot. We were excited to stay at a Haunted Hotel, but there were a few things which we didn't like in the end. Upon arrival the TV didn't work, but the nice lady who showed us our room fixed it.
Disliked: After booking the room I was informed that we would have a King size bed room in the courtyard instead of a double-bed room which I thought shouldn't be a problem. However, when we arrived, our room didn't have a window nor a balcony. It was located on the ground floor. The AC was set to 67F (19C) and since the outlet was on the high wall just below the ceiling, it blew directly on our bed and couldn't be regulated from within our room. We asked to change it, but it wasn't possible. It was not that hot outside, so we didn't think that it needed to be set to this cold temperature. Being in the room was extremely unpleasant after a while as the AC was blowing very strongly and we were freezing. There was also no other possibility to sit anywhere else than on the bed. There were some people staying at the room above us who made a lot of noise one night and trampled around so that plaster fell off the wall and hit us when we were trying to sleep (around midnight) and we jumped out of bed since we thought a roach or bug had fallen off the wall. The courtyard looked nice, but upon closer inspection the pillows and table cloths were dirty and the colors faded. We are not picky, but we didn't want to sit down there. Unfortunately our expectations weren't met. :(

We felt like old friends.

Liked: The staff are absolutely amazing. Due to a booking issue, we thought that we were out of luck in regards to needing two beds. The staff went above and beyond. We were first pleasantly surprised at their response time and friendly, welcoming personalities. These ladies were always smiling! Then, they stepped up in preparing the room for an extra bed. The booking issue was the booking sites fault and not theirs, but they still took it on and fixed it! The entire time we felt as though they genuinely cared about not only our time at the hotel but also throughout the whole city. The rooms were clean and beds were comfy. Location, location, location. We were in walking distance of everything within the French quarter. As three young people looking to wobble back to our room, it was very easy to make it back safely. We will be back!

An unforgettable Mardi Gras getaway...

Liked: Our stay at "The Haunted Hotel" during Mardi Gras week was nothing short of incredible! From the moment we arrived, the exceptional staff made us feel right at home. Their welcoming and helpful demeanor truly enhanced our experience, and Christina, in particular, stood out as super helpful. She went above and beyond to make sure we had everything we needed, from providing insightful tips for activities and restaurants to being readily available whenever we had a question or request. The location of the hotel couldn't have been better. Nestled between the vibrant Bourbon Street and the lively Frenchman Street, it struck the perfect balance, allowing us easy access to the best bars and attractions without being overwhelmed by the crowds. We stayed in room B5 in the lower courtyard, which was not only comfortable but also conveniently located for enjoying the courtyard during the hot weather. The hotel's ambiance perfectly complemented the spirit of New Orleans. Embracing the history of the New Orleans Axeman, the atmosphere was both intriguing and welcoming. Despite being in the midst of Mardi Gras festivities, the street itself remained quiet and safe, providing a peaceful retreat when needed. Our room exceeded our expectations in terms of comfort and amenities. The spacious bathroom with twin sinks was a nice touch, and the bed was incredibly comfortable. We appreciated the fridge for keeping our drinks cold, the coffee machine for our morning pick-me-up, and the large TV for unwinding after a day of exploring. The highlight for us was the expansive courtyard, which offered a cool respite from the New Orleans heat. It would undoubtedly be the perfect spot for pre-drinks with a larger group. Thanks so much! - Gavin & Megan
Disliked: We honestly couldn't find anything to fault during our stay - everything was fantastic! If we were to suggest one improvement, it would be to consider adding some additional coat hooks around the room. During our week-long stay, there was a particularly rainy day, and having extra hooks would have been convenient for hanging wet clothes separately from our dry wardrobe items.
