Disappointing

Liked: The meal was lovely, and service was good - staff were friendly.
Disliked: We didn't feel it was value for money. Room and the corridor leading to them were in much need of decoration - carpet had an old, musty smell to it. The bathroom door barely closed, and the wallpaper in the corner was peeling off. We visited the spa and, although the facilities were generally good, it wasn't very clean, with lots of hair on the side of the jacuzzi and the entry to it looking like it needs a good scrub. We were surprised to find the surcharge for breakfast as having paid £145 for the room, and an additional £50 for spa access, plus £15 for our small dog to stay, we assumed it would be included. Overall very disappointing.

Liked: The room was nice enough and was decently comfortable. The facilities were really nice, especially the pool, jacuzzi and spa!
Disliked: The WiFi was appalling! Nothing that required the Internet worked

Liked: We enjoyed the spa facilities. The general decor of the hotel was OK and the location was pleasant. The staff were helpful and friendly
Disliked: Many things were disappointing. When booking, we were asked if there were any special requests. I said that we would like a room with a bath but there was no response to this request and we never got one. The facilities in the room were very basic - not enough hangers, drawers or cupboard space for clothing over three days. The bathroom/toilet lacked any privacy with a clear glass door to the bedroom. We paid for a room with breakfast included but the menu had additional prices for a full English breakfast - the first time I have ever experience this in an English hotel. For most of the stay, we had to be escorted to our room because of a technical issue preventing the issue of key cards.

Disliked: Damp smell, smell of drains, paying extra for full english breakfast, food cold congealed, afternoon tea extremely expensive for shop bought cakes, reception staff unhelpful.

Wonderful stay

Liked: Lovely staff, excellent facilties, delicious food.
Disliked: People still using their mobile phones in the spa, despite notices asking them not to. O e lady had her phone pointed at us in the vitality pool. Probably just reading social media, but a little unnerving.
