We made the best of...

Liked: The view out side and friendly valet
Disliked: The room was run down. Bed was older than my great grandma. The shower squealed so loud. The room was hot and the ac didn’t work. The pools were anything but marvellous. Over crowded. Took an hour and a half of standing in a line to check in.The movie I rented disappeared when I hit pause for too long. I spent 900 for two days and it wasn’t even worth 300. I’ve been to many hot springs all over the world and this was the worst experience I’ve ever had. As someone bringing their girlfriend for our first anniversary it was god awful and embarrassing. I would have rather stayed at a holiday inn. Do some renovations already you are over charging and clearly have the money to do so.

Comfortable and cozy little getaway.

Liked: The room was facing the pool side and was spacious enough! I think it was great to have the proximity towards the pool area and healing spa. Our first day involved having a healing spa appointment and that was lovely! The bed was comfortable enough and we enjoyed it being a king sized bed.
Disliked: I think we noticed that the facility is definitely older and needs an upgrade. I didn't think the fridge worked really well to cool our drinks. One of my nightstand lamps didn't work, at all, so I couldn't turn the light on on my side of the bed.

Great location, pools, understaffed.

Liked: I’ve been coming here for a long time. Love the mountain location and variety of pools.
Disliked: It was Valentine’s Day, so much more expensive than normal, fine. We also booked dinner at the restaurant and paid for the pre-fixe Valentine’s meal. The hotel was full, there was no parking, even for overnight guests and we had to spend 45 min circling the parking lot after running out. Staff was overwhelmed and couldn’t help guests. The dinner started off great, the food was good, but they wait staff also overwhelmed and we never got 2nd drinks or our third course after sitting there for over an hour between. We kept asking, then even just for the bill to skip the last course and they didn’t come back. Finally, we went to the hostess desk and my wife left in tears. This was supposed to be a special evening for us.Lastly, we love the pools. They were crowded when fully booked, so that’s expected, but again, no staff was cleaning up used towels, towels ran out, toilet paper ran out, the locker rooms were gross and the sauna was filthy and smelled like mildew. We have a good time at HHS usually, but this experience over a holiday weekend was bad and we paid a huge amount of money for it. The staffing must be a challenge, but better planning would be good for future holidays. We’ll probably come back anyway, just hope for a better experience, and not on a holiday.
