A Treat of a Stay...
Liked: Loved the sympathetic restoration of this historic building The central location, in The Rocks, was so convenient to 'Vivid' attractions, The Rocks Markets, City Centre, Circular Quay Railway Station, ferry terminals, and the Royal Botanic Gardens Sydney. Our room and bed were so comfortable and daily housekeeping was providedExcellent meals and service are provided in 'Tayim Restaurant'

I was super annoyed at...
Liked: Location
Disliked: Move to cashless. I find it offensive that you do not accept AUD in Australia. I have stayed at your hotel every time I’ve been to Sydney in the last 10 years and recommended friends to stay there. This is the last time I will stay there. Let me know if you revert back to accepting cash as legal tender.

Love it here
Liked: Location is perfect. A short walk to historic sites, the Harbour Bridge and key transport options in Circular Quay. Comfortable beds and quiet rooms despite Livid happening outside.
Disliked: Parking. As about the only people on earth not away that Livid was on and there were multiple street closures, it would have been great to have a reminder in the booking acknowledgment email, especially regarding parking options. We had to park about one kilometre away.In room amenities. As a long term customer of this hotel, especially under its previous ownership, there was more in room and in hotel amenities to both make you feel comfortable and to create repeat custom. Post-COVID, the emphasis appears to be on cost savings for the hotel while using the pandemic as justification for reduced services. This comment applies to all Australian accommodation I have stayed in since 2021.

Lovely, eclectic hotel
Liked: Location is awesome, walking distance to everything 'The Rocks', including the bridge climb starting point. Easy walking distance to circular key area. The clocktower parking is across the road, just be sure to check accessibility (parking is available) as we just made it in by 4 minutes before they shut the road down due to vivid festival activities.
Disliked: Would have loved more room service options for weary travellers. Not sure if there's a lift to the 1st floor, as we were directed to the stairs. Just something to be aware of, for older travellers or those like us who'd just finished climbing the harbour bridge and really didn't want to see any more stairs! We were there on a Tuesday morning, and there really weren't many options for breakfast, and it all looked empty (not many weekday travellers perhaps). Would have been great to have been advised about the limited access to the parking area due to the vivid festival.
