Harbour Light Motel

Normally, I don’t like to give bad reviews. However, my recommendation - spend the extra $50 and find somewhere else to stay. The beds are extremely uncomfortable; very loud and had missing linen; didn't even have a face cloth in the washroom. The gentleman who checked us out advised me that my room smelled like smoke even though I don't smoke and my husband didn't even smoke in our car parked in front. He went across the parking lot. I still have not received my deposit back. It's been two days. I would not recommend this motel. The only reason I gave it a poor and not terrible is due to the young woman who checked us in. She was very polite and very helpful. If it wasn't for her, I'd give it a terrible.

Liked: The size of the room was decent. The young woman who checed us in was very helpful and seemed knowledgable.
Disliked: Missing linens; the beds were extremely uncomfortable. Had a horrible sleep; very loud - we could hear everything above and around us. Problem checking out and getting my deposit back.

One of my BEST stays...

Liked: The gentleman at the front desk was super friendly and welcoming. He offered suggestions for things to see in the area, which I appreciated very much! Also, an accommodation "away from home" finally got it right with regard to outlets and charger ports! It seems there are NEVER enough in most hotel rooms. KUDOS to this place for making so many available. Finally - super clean, ultra white, bed linens, towels, etc.! There is nothing worse than checking in to a hotel with "white" linens and towels, that are instead, a dingy yellow! Yours were GREAT! MUCH APPRECIATED!
Disliked: Nothing to put here!

Fine for one night

Liked: Room was fine for one night. TV worked.
Disliked: The street from the motel to the center doesn't feel very safe. For one night it was okay for me, but I definitely wouldn't want to stay here more nights.I would have appreciated it if there was a kettle in the room, to be able to make some tea or noodles. There was a microwave, but there wasn't a plate to heat food up on.

Great cost effective accommodations for...

Liked: The bed was awesome for my liking…soft and I slept so soundly. There’s perfect space for two people with 2 double beds! I loved having a mini fridge and microwave!!! There is AC if needed. The location was perfect for a short walk to the waterfront and there is a shell gas station kitty corner to the motel, so you can easily grab snacks and or gas. The front concierge at the accommodation was very welcoming and helpful. I would definitely stay again.
Disliked: Nothing!

Adequate for our overnight stay...

Liked: Room clean, beds and pillows comfortable. Next door to popular cafe.
Disliked: No elevator or anyone to carry bags up one flight of stairs. Hard for older people to do. Receptionist unfamiliar with town facilities like where to catch an intercity bus and how to get to places of interest.
