Expectations unfulfilled.

Liked: Room was clean and nicely appointed. The A/C was wall-controlled (thermostat) and worked well. The price was nice (under $100).
Disliked: No elevator to 2nd floor. Didn't get the side of the hotel with the view of the Sheboygan River (big disappointment). The motel lobby and dining area was under renovation, so the "breakfast" was served at the front desk. Full disclosure: The hotel prides itself in its "family-owned, no big chain" heritage; and for it downtown location right on the Sheboygan River. Well, the renovation, no elevator, and room without a view of the river turned the promise of a delightful place into just-another-meh-hotel.

We would definitely stay here...

Liked: We very much enjoyed our stay except for the issue listed below. The young ladies at the desk when we arrived and again when we checked out were very helpful, even helping carry bags upstairs. The breakfast was good though I don’t think I would choose a sugar infused waffle again.
Disliked: We were disappointed that there was no elevator, especially since our ages range from 70-83 and some knees just don’t work the way they used to. We also noticed that several areas needed dusting, including the table the fridge sits on in the breakfast room. If this is due to construction dust, it may need more than the usual amount of attention.

Wonderful hotel location on the...

Liked: Location on the Riverwalk, where we walked every day, was exceptional. Our bed was very comfortable and the shower was excellent. Staff were very friendly and responsive. Price was reasonable.
Disliked: We were prepared for a hotel where the new owners are actively upgrading, and they are. We knew we’d have to walk upstairs to the second floor. The owners are aware of such things as a loose towel rack, etc. and changes are in process.
