Liked: A timeshare that doesn’t feel too much like one (a good thing), but has hefty and inexplicable “resort and check-in” fees, and will charge you 20 USD + taxes per day for your car. Nice grounds and gardens, a beautiful view onto the Bay, and spacious rooms, although they could benefit from an upgrade out of their Reagan style (and age). Very comfortable bedding. It shares a private beach with the 5-star Hotel "1 Hanalei", where we recommend you go and have a nice sunset cocktail!
Disliked: No proper restaurant or real food options on the property: you need to drive to Hanalei.

Unlawful resort gauging tourists, habitability...

Liked: Housekeeping did a nice job.
Disliked: Terrible decision to book here. Illegal practices, from broken sliding glass doors, chicken manure on our concrete porches the entire stay, no hot water, and management was “going to call me back” for four days in a row. Hidden fees on top of booking. Super long walk to the beach where their food cars coughed black fumes and gas. Super expensive and then hot tub was not working, the amount of times maintenance bothered us in our condo during a three night stay? 3 times. Discount offered off a $1900 bill for three nights? $25.I have to take this to court/ opposite of vacation give- because I wanted to cancel the first night and needed a manager to give me the okay. Instead, HBR violated Hawaiian Supreme Court rulings that decide there is a standard of care and made me anxious on what was supposed to be paradise. Terrible management is an understatement. Pool was dark and didn’t seem clean. Groups of kids were playing in thr hot tub unattended and the golf carts whizzed right by pedestrians like myself and my kids with out slowing down.

Location is beautiful, but for...

Liked: The location is beautiful and the rooms are very large.
Disliked: The bedrooms are not very clean. We had black specs blowing on our bed from the dirty airconditioner above it. Also food crumbs and bugs all around the bed. Also the roosters right outside the door crowing at 2am were not great. I know the roosters are a Kauai thing, but the lack of padding / noise prevention in the doors was what made it difficult. Would not get a ground floor room again.

Disliked: We were locked out of our room every day. The keys were disconnected. Had to go to the office to have them reset each day.
