I wouldn’t stay here again...

Liked: Most of the staff were excellent and tried their best to help out but it was obvious they were understaffed. If you need a one night stay then you won’t experience or notice what I have after staying for 5 days with two small kids. If you don’t get Karen on breakfast duty then you will have the door slid closed in your face while you’re trying to feed your kids. Yes 5 mins left until 10am, however the breakfast lady on the weekend has zero compassion for you arriving with two under 3. Thank you to Karen who went above and beyond and who also offer to pack us up a snack bag of fruit for the travel/day. Thank you also to the night front desk staff and the front desk staff in general who seemingly tried to help us out with our requests.
Disliked: FeedbackFor Ypsilanti hotel:Hello, Although we had an excellent stay at your hotel in Ypsilanti and many of the staff went above and beyond to help us out. Karen and the team at the front desk were extremely helpful.I would like to point out for improvement, the following:It seems like your cleaning staff is understaffed and most of the hotel seems like it is understaffed.I stayed for 5 days and my room was cleaned once. I was told it would be cleaned every other day. Upon special mention and persistence fromMyself, I was able to get the room cleaned. The cleaning staff was very helpful and kind and obviously very busy and this is why I mentioned the under staffing issues.We were given a play pen for children but it was very dirty and obviously not wiped down. These type of details made it difficult for me travelling on my own with two small kids.The shower only in the room is not a great feature for kids/parents. I had to buy a container from the dollar store to bath my 1yr old to keep her safe in the bathroom.The barn door not being functional to close the bathroom area was not convenient.There was zero cutlery in the room which is advertised as a kitchen- when asked the front desk i got a real knife from the kitchen.The breakfast lady (not Karen) on the weekend was very grumpy and not helpful. She even closed the door on us to hide the kitchen and i was unable to get forks to eat our breakfast.The sofa couch was listed as a bed in our room but I had to make it myself.The play pen - i called a day ahead for this to be in our room but had to ask for it to be delivered to our room and then ask for bedsheets for it, no blankets provided. These items need smaller sheets and blankets for children.No help with luggage upon arrival.I had to call and ask for luggage cart when leaving, i was brought a luggage cart/rack and zero offer to load my bags on the cart by the front desk person. Again, seems like a total lack of employees.

Liked: It was clean, the beds and pillows were comfortable. The pool was nice and the staff was kind. The breakfast was generous. It was close to visiting our daughter.

Nice stay in Ypsilanti.

Liked: Very clean. Rooms were comfortable and quiet. Breakfast was good, with a decent selection and an efficient layout.
Disliked: Had to wait for room even though it was after check-in time.Bathroom door would not stay closed (barn door with no latch and no way to keep it from sliding back open).
