My wife and I had a great stay at the Hampton Inn. They definitely had the best rate in the area. The hotel is only 2 blocks from the Powell BART station which is very convenient getting to and from the airport. The rooms are a little on the small side but manageable. The staff was very friendly and kind. I also would like to single out one employee, Daniel. He went above and beyond to make sure that we knew where everything was in the city, recommended some excellent restaurants, and made sure that our stay in San Francisco was great. I would give Daniel 6 stars. I highly recommend this hotel and I commend Daniel for a job well done.

Disliked: There is no free parking and it will cost you more than $60 for the parking. Since it is in downtown, there is lots of homeless people around the area. In addition, the room is small

Good, and would stay there...
Liked: Breakfast choices, the walk-ability, the proximity to the venues, Westfield Mall, restaurants, and public transit, the awesome view from the terrace, the kindness of staff, and the safety within the hotel.
Disliked: The parking cost at hotel, the loud child in room next door, the unexpected $50.00 deposit at time of check-in (but upon check-out was reimbursed), the urine smell in alley (on Jessie) leading to hotel, and some of the homeless seemingly on drugs or drunk (yet, they never bothered us.) I suggest going out door onto Mission St. and walk left the short distance to 5th Street to get to Market St.
