Good for just the place...
Liked: I like the location. The price for the room being last minute was not bad. Some of the staff members were fairly nice and helpful.
Disliked: The parking was such a pain! Limited parking and very compact. There were many cars that parked 2 lanes making it difficult for other travelers to park. To me, I didn't feel like it was worth to pay for parking when the spots were limited and super compact. The room had a funky smell like trash and mold. Come to find out when you look outside the window, there was a pile to trash dumped around. The carpet, some spot had a wet sticky feel. So I do advise (DO NOT GO BAREFOOT). The bed was comfortable enough, but maybe it's because I was tired. However, the bed made a lot of noise. With every movement you do, even just turning to one side, you'd hear the bed creaking. The bathroom light flickered numerous times before it decides to stay on. I didn't have breakfast because the lounge area were not too clean. There were crumbs of food everywhere and the seat had odd color stains on it. As for the staff, the gentlemen that helped me check in were great! Sam gave us 8 complimentary items (4 snacks/4beverages) of anything in the snack area. However, Tamara who was working that night gave us a bit of a hard time with our beverages. Told us, alcohol was not part of the complimentary beverage. In my opinion, if it is not part of it, Hampton Inn should've labeled or informed us during check in. Don't just leave alcohol in the fridge next to the juice and soda area and say have whatever you want then when we pick ONE can of beer, "You can't have that." It makes no sense.

Trains planes and automobiles
Liked: Property was conveniently located to downtown area, clean, modern rooms, friendly staff
Disliked: Located right near the train tracks, very noisy at all hours of the night

An overpriced Hampton.
Liked: The staff was very professional.
Disliked: The parking garage is a joke. The fact that I was charged $30 per night is infuriating for what was provided. You can at least put a sign indicating where it's a deadend and a warning that larger vechicles will have a difficult time moving around due to the extreme compact area. Also, the food is gross. The oatmeal, eggs, and, potatoes were watery and slimy.

Many better options in this...
Disliked: Difficulty dealing with front desk clerk and manager was abset to resolve problem. Elevators were not working.

Liked: The hotel is perfectly located to explore the main areas of San Diego and is 10 mins drive from the airport. In addition, given its reasonable cost, it is a good value for money.
Disliked: The hotel has no room service which means your room is not cleaned till after you check-out. You are required to pick up additional towels from the reception and put all your trash outside the room yourself! Their reasoning is COVID precautions but given that there are no mask requirements in the hotel and the staff does not wear masks as well it sounds a bit ironic!
