Hampton Inn New Bern

Passable

Disliked: Check in was a nightmare because of issues with booking.com. i ended up hsving to pay for the room a second time, and am waiting for settlement of that issue. Michael did his best but there was no manager on duty with the necessary information to resolve the situation.

Liked: We stayed in a suite. Very nice and roomy. The bathroom was, as well. The bed was extremely comfortable, shower head strong. Room clean as was the rest of the hotel.
Disliked: The only thing iffy was the surface of the tub. I was afraid I might fall if not careful. It wasn’t slippery but shaped oddly. Once I figured out how to manipulate it, I felt ok about it.

Exceptional

Disappointed

Liked: The room i was given was recently remodeled, attractive, and clean. I liked the walk in shower. Good water pressure and hot. The room also had a small fridge, microwave and coffee pot.
Disliked: There was construction going on in the hotel and at nearly 6pm they were still hammering and drilling so much I had to go down to the front desk to complain. Fortunately they soon stopped for the day. The room had recently been remodeled and was clean and comfortable except for the bed. The mattress was very hard and the pillows flat and uncomfortable. They should have closed the hotel for business until the remodel was completed and invested in better quality bedding.

It was okay but not...

Liked: Renovation was taking place with construction workers everywhere. The staff went above and beyond to minimize the inconvenience.
Disliked: Renovation was taking place with construction workers everywhere. That problem will fix itself when work is completed.

A bit disappointing

Disliked: Hampton Inn used to be a really wonderful place. This one was being renovated and that was all fine. However, where Hampton is falling down..towels are rough, pillows are hard (used to be lovely), mattress is not nearly as comfy as in the past.
