Modern Comfort Steps from Kansas City's Music Scene

Located in the heart of downtown Kansas City, the Hampton Inn By Hilton Kansas City Downtown Financial District MO blends modern comfort with a historic vibe. Just a 10-minute walk from top venues like the Sprint Center and Power and Light District, this 3-star hotel offers clean, non-smoking rooms, a 24-hour front desk, and free WiFi—perfect for concert-goers looking for a reliable, centrally-located base.

Why Concert-goers love it

Not only is it within walking distance of major Kansas City music venues, but the hotel offers private parking for those driving in and luggage storage if you're heading straight to a show. Guests appreciate the quiet rooms—ideal for winding down post-concert—and the late 12:00 PM check-out gives you time to sleep in after a big night out. Being close to the Streetcar line also means late-night transport is easy and affordable.

Who this Hotel is great for

  • Groups of friends heading to a gig together
  • Solo travelers seeing a bucket-list artist
  • Couples making a weekend of it
  • Fans looking for a quiet recovery space after the show
  • Budget-conscious music lovers wanting downtown access without breaking the bank

Food and Drink Options

The hotel offers a free hot breakfast (including buffet, continental, and American options), which is a lifesaver after a late night. While there’s no full-service restaurant on-site, there are plenty of walkable dining spots nearby in the Power and Light District. Though room service isn’t available 24/7, the front desk can offer great late-night recommendations.

Nightlife Options

The real nightlife draw here is the proximity to Kansas City's bar and club scene. From rooftop bars to speakeasies, you’re just a few blocks from live music lounges, craft cocktail spots, and post-show hangouts. While the hotel itself is more chill than party-central, it’s a perfect launchpad for a night out.

What People Say

Guests rave about the friendly staff, clean and modern rooms, and excellent location close to major attractions and venues. Many highlight the free breakfast and say it's a great value for being so close to downtown action. The hotel’s historic charm mixed with modern touches is also a fan favorite.

Areas for Improvement

Some guests mention that parking can be a bit pricey, and the lack of an on-site bar or restaurant may be a downside if you're looking to stay in all night. But with so many options nearby, most don't mind.

The Bottom Line

If you're heading to a concert in Kansas City and want a quiet, convenient, and comfortable place to stay within walking distance of the action, the Hampton Inn by Hilton Downtown Financial District hits all the right notes.

This hotel was beautiful. The staff were very friendly and more than willing to go above and beyond. The breakfast had a nice selection of good food. Parking was $16 but it was valet and you had access to your vehicle whenever you needed it. I would recommend staying here!

Liked: Friendly staff. Clean.
Disliked: Slow elevator.

Great stay!

Liked: Room was very clean. Good location depending on where you want to be in the city, few blocks away from the River Market, very cute area, and about 10-15 min walk to conference center.
Disliked: No complaints!

Disliked: I was staying on the last floorThere is a terrible ventilation noise which is really annoying, almost like having an engine on top of the roof

Was a great stay in...

Liked: Was beautiful, very clean, staff was nice and friendly
Disliked: Housekeeping left things in the room i.e. washcloth and soap in the tub/shower. Iron, spray bottle of cleaner and half drank Monster left on tv stand in room. Room we had, I don't know if it was the elevator that was so noisy, but there was something that would make a regularly timed constant noise.
