Ask about amenities important to...

Liked: The room was clean and spacious and the staff were very friendly.
Disliked: The pool was closed for maintenance and it wasn't disclosed at the time of booking. Or at all. My daughter was pretty disappointed. If I had known we probably would have stayed elsewhere - there were plenty of options in the area.

Very good

Liked: Inviting lobby. Environmentally conscientious: no single use plastic toiletries, reasonable laundry intervals. Good breakfast.
Disliked: Low water pressure in shower. Breakfast was not refreshed so some items were gone when we got down at 7.(they were eventually restocked) waffle appliance seemed past its prime. Just not quite what we have come to expect at Hampton Inns.

Liked: The friendly staff, how welcoming the room was, and the class of the room.
Disliked: Being next to the interstate, and the shower wasn’t clean
