Hampton Inn By Hilton Washington-Downtown-Convention Center

Staff at the front desk and valet are very polite and professional. The room was clean, with all expected amenities. The shower was nice and hot with great water pressure. The location definitely cannot be beaten, if you are attending a show at the Sixth and I. The only low point was the nasty bartender at the hotel, who started closing up and cleaning an hour before last call, and ignored everyone who came in between 10-10:30pm.

Disliked: The bartender inside the hotel on 11-8-2018 was very rude. We came back from our show around 10:05, and wanted to get a drink at the hotel bar before heading up to our room for the night. I stood at the bar for over 10 minutes, while a lady picked up candles off the tables around the restaurant. I had no idea, she was the bartender! She made eye contact with me 3 times and still ignored me while she packed up the tables. Finally around 10:20, she came over and said 'what do you want?' We ordered 2 easy drinks and took them over to a table. Five minutes later, she came over and snatched the candle off our table. Then, at 10:35, she came back by our table and screamed that it was last call, then looked at her watch and said 'well, last call in 9 minutes!'. We had no intention of staying later, but quickly finished our drinks and headed out. I've never felt more unwelcome by a bartender in my life. If the bar is open until 11p.m., she shouldn't have been shutting the whole place down at 10pm.

The overall stay was pleasant. The room was clean and the pool and bar area was very nice. But my A/C temperature wouldn't adjust and no one came to fix it. And the woman at the front desk was very rude.

Liked: I thought breakfast was delicious and the hours breakfast was served where so convenient..
Disliked: I think one elevator was down so we waited a short bit but not bad.

Exceeded Expectations, Nice People

Liked: The staff were all really courteous and kind and helpful. Valet parking seemed like it was almost full but the nice man working there helped me get the last spot, which was SO kind because I had just driven a full day to get there...It was a little chaotic because there was a convention, but he made it happen. The room was also very clean and quiet. I was surprised at how relaxing it was, it was nice, and also close to good food.
Disliked: Eh, there was a weird ding in the shower faucet, but it otherwise wasn't too bad.

Passable

Liked: The location was great to walk and access all the sites in and around the city. The bereakfast baar was set up well and the staff was pleasant.
Disliked: The lobby got very congested during breakfast. Also with the Comicon event going on the parking garage was full the entire weekend. None of this was shred prior to booking.

Liked: Front desk very kind and helpful.Clean through out except our bathroom tub/shower area.
Disliked: Bathroom Tub. Needs to be detailed- Looks like mold buildup.

Not the best staffing or...

Liked: The hotel was very nice and clean. The room was spacious and neat. The breakfast was delicious and the different flavors of waffle batter were cool.
Disliked: The staff was definitely not as friendly and welcoming as they should be. The pricing was outrageous and the lack of free parking is disgraceful for sure.
