The Spotlight on Hampton Inn By Hilton & Suites Madison Downtown

Stay in the Heart of Madison’s Music Scene

Modern and welcoming, Hampton Inn By Hilton & Suites Madison Downtown offers a relaxed vibe right in the middle of downtown Madison. Located just a short walk from major entertainment spots like the Kohl Center and the Overture Center for the Arts, this hotel blends comfort with convenience. With free Wi-Fi, an indoor pool, and a complimentary hot breakfast, it’s the perfect base for music lovers visiting the city.

Why Concert-goers love it

You can’t beat the location—just steps from some of Madison’s biggest venues, so there’s no need to worry about late-night rideshares after the encore. The hotel’s quiet rooms are great for winding down, and the 12:00 PM checkout time means you can sleep in the morning after. Late-night snacks aren’t a problem with nearby food spots and in-room comforts. Plus, the indoor hot tub is a relaxing way to soothe aching feet after standing through a long set.

Who this Hotel is great for

- Groups of friends heading to a show together
- Solo travelers checking off a bucket-list performance
- Couples making a music-filled weekend of it
- Fans needing a calm space to recharge post-concert
- Budget-conscious music lovers who still want style and comfort

Food and Drink Options

Start your day right with the free daily hot breakfast—served late enough to recover from a night out. While there’s no on-site restaurant, the central location means you’re surrounded by walkable eateries, late-night bites, and casual dining spots. Craving something simple? Keep it easy with snacks from nearby convenience stores or delivery options.

Nightlife Options

While the hotel itself doesn’t host live music, you’re in prime territory for bars, lounges, and clubs around downtown Madison. Whether you're up for craft cocktails or a local dive bar, you’ll find a scene that suits your post-show mood. For a quieter night in, the hotel’s peaceful vibe is perfect for unwinding.

What People Say

Guests love the friendly staff, the clean and spacious rooms, and the unbeatable location near concert venues. Many reviews highlight the ease of walking to events and the reliable Wi-Fi for planning nights out. The indoor pool and hot tub are a hit with travelers looking to relax after a busy evening.

Areas for Improvement

Parking is available but comes with an additional fee, which some guests found a bit steep. Also, though the hotel is near nightlife, it doesn’t offer its own bar, which might disappoint those looking for a nightcap without leaving the building.

The Bottom Line

A clean, comfy, and conveniently located stay that puts you close to the music and lets you recover in peace—and style.

Nice place but not good communication from front desk. Don't assume guests know how things work just because it's everyday stuff for you. It was our first stay here. Now that I know how things work I'd probably stay again, although it was pretty expensive!

Liked: Nice room.
Disliked: Communication from front desk was terrible. Weren't made aware of needing room key for elevator or how to check out of the parking ramp. We were charged over $50 for one night's parking when it should have been $15 (which we weren't aware of when booking either!) - the room was $220 already! You'd think parking would be included!

We loved the Hampton. We will be back again and we will encourage our friends and family to use this hotel. Wonderful experience.

Liked: The rooms were neat and comfortable. The breakfast was great - good variety and everything was hot. The bar and lounge was amazing. Highly recommend.

We enjoyed our stay! Very clean hotel and the staff was friendly. Close to State Street, walking distance to shopping, bars, and restaurants. Would stay there again, definitely! :) Only bad comment I can say is that you have to pay extra to park.

Liked: Great hotel.
