Very good

Nice Hampton Inn if you...

Liked: Good & safe location, close to downtown Deland shops. Room was nice, on the small side, ok for single or 2 people, but no more. Bed was comfortable. Plenty of towels. Coffee available in room & refrigerator. Room was clean. Noise level was good. You could hear a little noise from another room, but really not conversations. Black out curtains nice. Didn't really hear any noise from parking lot area. Did not use pool, so can't comment. Nice lobby. The desk staff was very friendly and helpful. Culver's is located next to hotel, so good for quick bite.
Disliked: Breakfast. I had the oatmeal, which was in something keeping it warm, but it was cold. I'm not a fan of strong coffee, but took a cup at the self-serve coffee bar. The coffee was like dish water, it was so weak, so I had juice. The buffet had waffles, eggs, sausage - the usual, but did not partake after I sampled the oatmeal.

A disappointing stay

Liked: Location, friendly helpful staff, gym, lots.of clean towels
Disliked: Bathroom sink drained very slowly, had to go down to desk for showercap, breakfast potatoes had terrible taste and were very dry. I have never before been disappointed in a Hampton Inn stay.

I would stay there again...

Liked: Breakfast was good, variety.Friendly staff. Very clean.
Disliked: Nothing I can complain about. We didn't use the pool so no comment on that.

This was my second stay...

Liked: The breakfast was excellent. The staff was very helpful and knowledgeable.
Disliked: Chair height toilets would have been nice. I asked for a handicap room but the only two of those in the whole hotel had already been reserved by someone else. There was a sign in the room that said the refreshments would be replenished every day of our stay but it didn't happen. The staff at the front desk did give us complimentary refreshments due to that problem.
