Really great stay. Beautiful historic renovation with a great room for my daughter and myself. We ate at the Century restaurant and it was delicious. Owning 3 restaurants myself I am the worst critic and every dish we ate was really very good. Great staff and overall excellent experience.

Liked: It is a beautiful historic hotel in the city center near the train/bus terminal and across the street from a nice park. Good breakfast.
Disliked: The hotel restaurant and bar were very nice but there was not an abundance of other eateries in the area at least not that we discovered.

Ridiculously not worth it. I...

Liked: The people were nice.
Disliked: The oat milk curdled the second I poured it into my coffee at breakfast. The shower and bathroom had mold. The TV was outdated with only local channels.The bed was uncomfortable- the bed cover was meant for a smaller bed and kept peeling up all night and smacking me in the face all night. The door had an INCH gap that we had to use a blanket to block. I have welts on my arms that I assume are from bed bugs.I have a rash on the bottom of my feet- probably from mold on the floors.

Liked: I love the history of the building and at the same time how well everything worked
Disliked: I wish I had known there would not be a mini-fridge or any kind of cooler or more information about the restaurant.

Liked: Hampton inn is misleading - tutwiler is how it’s labeled from the road. Front desk staff not very friendly. Took phone call & wouldn’t acknowledge me standing there. Should be signs that breakfast is on 8, not in lobby

Liked: Picture is very deceiving....nice building, historical landmark, so that tells you a little bit about the structure. The staff was nice, rooms are clean, every other day maid service, daily if requested. Breakfast was more than I expected. Location is central to everything in the downtown area. Plenty of restaurants if you go out and explore the neighborhood. I would definitely stay there again when in the Birmingham area.
