Really great stay. Beautiful historic renovation with a great room for my daughter and myself. We ate at the Century restaurant and it was delicious. Owning 3 restaurants myself I am the worst critic and every dish we ate was really very good. Great staff and overall excellent experience.

Not the stay we hoped...

Liked: Location was good.
Disliked: This property was in need of some updating. While an old building gives charm and character, upkeep is important. Wallpaper was coming off the walls, the tub was cracked and stained, and the carpet was dingy. The window in one of our two rooms was damaged and had duct tape on it. The refrigerator was sitting out on the carpet. There was a musty and old smell as well. All of these things made the room feel less clean.

Liked: Very friendly staff and a beautiful hotel. Comfortable beds.
Disliked: The room had a pretty strong musty smell.

Not worth the price

Liked: The valet staff was friendly.
Disliked: The linens on the bed did not appear clean and did not fit the mattress. I called the front desk to ask that the bed be remade with clean sheets and was told housekeeping leaves at 3:30, prior to check-in time. The maintenance man brought "fresh" sheets so I could remake the bed myself, however the fresh sheets looked well worn and used. Additionally, the shower doors kept falling off track making it difficult to get in and out. Not a pleasant experience and I would not recommend.

Liked: Valet parking was great and location good.
Disliked: The air conditioning was out. Bar closed up at 6:30 because of it. As a Gold status member, was not offered a complementary water/snack bag.
