Disliked: We’ve stayed at this location before a couple of years ago and it was fine however this last stay was a lot different and not as good. When we arrived for check in a few minutes before 3pm on Monday we were told that housekeeping had a very long meeting that morning which made them behind and our room should be ready in a half hour to an hour. At that point I was understanding and decided my family would go stroll Wakefield. The gentleman at the front desk offered to hold some of our grocery items for our kids in the back refrigerator until our room was ready. When we arrived back to the hotel an hour and 15 minutes later there was a new front desk attendant Brittany and she told us that she did not know what was going on and not sure when rooms would be ready for us. At first I was understanding but then I asked her if there was a MOD and she stated it was only her on. Then I asked if there was a house keeping manager and she said she would call her. Brittany then went to the back and came out and said there was no contact list for her to find these numbers. We were not the only people waiting for our rooms, there was a company who had a twenty room block and when they started to arrive shortly after us they were told none of there rooms were ready and again no ETA was provided to when they would be ready! It’s a hotel where are the radios to communicate with one another?? I work in the hospitality industry and if there is an issue with a specific department a manager or supervisor should be present until everything is resolved and customers are happy. Finally, Brittany was able to get in contact with someone using her cell phone and then was able to get Anna’s phone number from the housekeeping department, Anna started telling her what rooms were ready but my question is why did it take asking for a manager to make these phone calls happen?? I believe we were finally checked in and in our room about 4:45-5pm.
