Liked: The room was clean, the breakfast was good, and the room was ready when we got there at 3. All that was great. The room has new case goods and furnishings. Towels were fluffy and good. Location was good.
Disliked: 1) The carpet had just been cleaned and was VERY wet in our room. We didn't realize it until a few hours in when we took our shoes off. We went out for dinner and cranked up the fans so we didn't complain but the room should not have been rented in that state. 2) The policy of no maid service at all with a 2 night stay was a shock. I'm accustomed to rooms not being cleaned every day, but for $220 a night, I would expect at least a tidy up with trash emptied and coffee refreshed. This policy is NOT ok with me and I have been a regular Hampton Inn user for years. The prices have gone up and the service has gone down. I will think twice about using Hampton Inn again. 3) Staff needs a pep talk on being more friendly to guests. There were several instances where staff were in conversation with each other and didn't move out of the way or say hello when we were trying to get by. This wasn't true of everyone, but just a general reminder to always be courteous and mindful of guests is in order.
