Liked: The staff was pleasant. Our room was not ready for check on until 5 PM, and it smelled like an ashtray. I will be careful to select s non-smoking room in the future

Liked: The staff at the Hampton-Newport News location is top-notch. They were very kind and professional.
Disliked: We are loyal Hampton Inn users under the Hilton brand but this location needs some work on a aesthetics. While the place was clean, the furniture in the rooms are old and need replacement, and the carpet and wallpaper in the hall on the 3rd floor are stained and torn. Disappointing, as I didn't expect to see that in one of my favorite hotel brands. As a travel professional, I could not see myself booking this hotel for my clients.
