Very good service and caring of customers - we had taken a walk and they gave us water after coming back. When I tried to pay, she said "enjoy".
Liked: Service.
Disliked: Nothing.

The staff was great and welcoming; the room was clean. The location was good. I went for an overnight to see a show. It was fine and comfy.
Disliked: I didn't stay long, so didn't take advantage of most amenities. I asked about places nearby for a late snack and drink, and the staff didn't know of any.

Clean hotel, delicious breakfast, but...
Liked: Very clean and the staff was very nice. The breakfast was very delicious!
Disliked: The double hotel inside one building was confusing at first, and even though all of the questions about parking said there’s parking on site, that was not true for us and we had to quickly find other arrangements. No easy way to park out front to check in and with Chicago traffic that was pretty stressful.

Good location, excellent staff, expensive...
Liked: Room was very clean, water presented on check in, very helpful staff throughout the hotel. Location was convent to metro stations within 10 minute walk.
Disliked: Price for the stay was expensive, pool was smaller than expected based on photos on the website.

Definitely will not be staying...
Disliked: When I first arrived I was told that there was a $75/night deposit that I had to pay. When I booked that was never mentioned. The site stated that $75 would be collected during check in. I had to pay an additional $300 to stay. Of course it was late in the night so I went ahead and remained there.I’ve attached pictures below. The room was disgusting. I’ve never stayed at the Hampton inn before but for the price I paid versus what I received I will never stay with them again. Over $1600 to live like this? There were splatters of something on the ceiling( I have no idea and don’t think I want to know what it is), the grout/caulking was missing in the shower and I think mold was growing and the room was super dusty.I would also like to add that the room did not have a microwave which I’ve never experienced. A refrigerator but no microwave didn’t make much sense to me. They did, however, have one down stairs by the front desk. I thought that was odd placement of ONE microwaveconsidering you have hundreds of guests. No vending machines even thought there are signs that say ice/vending. I’m guessing they decided to do away with them and have the guests come downstairs and buy their overpriced drinks. All that would be fine and dandy but they didn’t even have a decent selection of beverages. The only carbonated drink I recall seeing was the old fashioned glass bottle, 12 oz coke which ran around $6.I addressed all my concerns with the supervisor that was on duty. When I brought up the deposit it was almost a dismissive tone because she repeatedly said the deposit of paying per night is the standard in Chicago and that the money was just a hold that it would be returned. She also reiterated that it was on their website. How/why would I know it’s on your website if I booked through a 3rd party? That wasn’t the point, I allocated funds for emergencies when I’m out of town but off the rip an extra $300 was taken which is crazy.
