The Spotlight on Hamilton Inn Sturbridge

Comfortable, Budget-Friendly Stay Just Outside the Action

Modern, no-frills, and just a short drive from Worcester’s DCU Center Arena & Convention Center, the Hamilton Inn Sturbridge is a smart, affordable choice for concert-goers looking to stay outside the hustle but still be close to the music. Located in the quaint town of Sturbridge, this 2-star hotel offers clean, air-conditioned rooms with flat-screen TVs, free WiFi, and private bathrooms—ideal for winding down after a night of live music.

Why Concert-goers love it

Fans heading to shows at the DCU Center love this hotel for its easy-drive location—just 22 miles from the venue. While it's not in the heart of a nightlife district, its setting offers a quiet retreat post-show. Plus, with a 3:00 PM check-in and 11:00 AM check-out, there’s a bit of flexibility for those rolling in late and sleeping in. The 24-hour front desk is also a big plus for night owls returning from a gig.

Who this Hotel is great for

  • Groups of friends looking for a budget-friendly base outside the city
  • Solo travelers catching a big-name artist and wanting peace and quiet
  • Couples making a weekend music getaway with a side of small-town charm
  • Fans needing a low-key, restful spot post-concert
  • Budget-conscious music lovers who prefer to spend on tickets, not lodging

Food and Drink Options

While the hotel doesn’t have an on-site restaurant, there are local eateries within walking or short driving distance. Guests can grab breakfast nearby after a late night out, and several restaurants in the area stay open late for post-show bites. There’s no room service, but the staff is happy to recommend nearby options.

Nightlife Options

You won’t find live music or a bar on-site, but you’re not far from Sturbridge’s local taverns and pubs, offering a quiet drink or casual atmosphere. For more action, pre- or post-show drinks are best found closer to Worcester’s venue area.

What People Say

Guests highlight the cleanliness of the rooms, friendly service, and great value for the price. Many note that it's a great place to crash after a long night, thanks to the comfortable beds and quiet surroundings. The staff’s willingness to help, even at odd hours, gets frequent praise.

Areas for Improvement

The hotel is a bit basic in terms of amenities—no gym, no breakfast buffet, and no bar—but it more than makes up for it with its low rates and solid service. If you're expecting luxury or walkable nightlife, this might not be your vibe, but for a sleep-and-go concert trip, it's solid.

The Bottom Line

If you’re looking for a clean, quiet, and affordable home base within driving distance of major concert venues, the Hamilton Inn Sturbridge delivers exactly what you need—no frills, no fuss, just rest.

Worst Interactions With Check-In Than...

Liked: The location was the only thing going for it.
Disliked: Pulled up to check in. Someone was working on their vending machine, presumably staff, immediately to the right of the front and had it open blocking the front office door. They did not make an effort to close it or step aside for us to enter so we were made to squeeze around him and the vending machine. Everyone was furiously cleaning the office (several people). Took a bit before we were addressed for check in. While I was waiting, the man who tinkering with the vending machine began circling our vehicle quickly (could see through the office window behind us) and was looking inside of the car, which became distracting while the gentleman was pulling up our reservation. He began hollering/exclaiming into the office as we're checking it "They have rats!! Rats!!!". I said they're not rats...we had come from a guinea pig show. He started screaming there's a no pet policy -which of course- I knew and agreed to booking there. We leave the windows cracked in our car during brief trips and they stay in the vehicle in their cages. He peppered us that surely we wouldn't be doing that. I assured him on this and he continued berating me about it. Drilling us with even more questions while yelling. Suddenly I had to justify what I was doing to this guy who didn't even know me! He became so irate. I continued to try finishing the check in process when I saw he AGAIN was back out near our vehicle. I had enough, I said we were not staying there after such a fuss. Upon leaving and checking into a different location, we were shocked to see he OPENED our car without us seeing it when our backs were turned! How did we know? Painters tape for the vending machine was left inside our vehicle plus other tape that was not ours! Watch out. If they're opening up guests' cars, I would hate to do what they'll do in your rooms while you're not there!

Bad

Disliked: Horrible staff and management greedy owners after you check out the fraudulently charged your credit card. I would be aware and stay away from this place. They commit credit card fraud by writing your credit card number down

Distressing.

Liked: Location and price
Disliked: Coffee maker didn’t work. Took a while for them to find me one that did. Lamp didn’t work. Scent diffusers gave the room a sickening smell. Soap dish in shower loosely attached and fell with normal use. 3 hooks for hanging clothing. No hangers, no place else to hang anything. When I requested some discount for all the trouble the owner yelled at me. Very bad vibe.
