Hamilton Inn Select Beachfront

Good affordable hotel for families.

Liked: The beach front access.
Disliked: The hot tub was NOT hot and the breakfast.

Great room for larger families...

Liked: Front desk staff couldn't have been friendlier or more helpful. The location was great for both ferries and downtown area. Great view of the lake. Room was very spacious. Would definitely stay again.
Disliked: Hotel is a little dated and could use some renovations. Fold out couch mattress wasn't great. Venting in bathroom may need some improvement as the ceiling could stand to be cleaned more regularly.

Liked: The location was great. We were right on the beach, and the view was gorgeous!
Disliked: Absolutely no Wi-Fi. Like, none! Bathroom looked like it was about to cave in on itself. I wouldn’t say the room was outdated, but more precisely, it was in need of serious repairs. The bathroom safety bar should not be hanging off of the wall. It was just dark, and certainly didn’t give off a beach vibe. If I had paid $60, I wouldn’t complain. I paid much more than $60.

Liked: Room walked out to the beach.
Disliked: Other guests leaving their garbage on the beach after they leave.

Bad

Liked: The woman that checked us in originally was very polite and professional.
Disliked: When we had an immediate problem with the rooms smell and broken door handle to the balcony we went back to the front desk to request a refund due to the room smelling bad, being dirty, full of bugs on the roof and having the handle being totally gone from the balcony door with only the sharp metal opening to try and slide the door open. When I went up front to talk to who I would assume was the manager she spoke to me about it in a very condescending manner scoffing that I would not get any money back even though it was right after we checked in and had not even sat on a bed. We dropped our bags and went to dinner next door then returned and grabbed our bags then left manly due to the disrespectful way the woman handled the whole situation. When I returned the keys to the first woman that I had encountered that was professional and kind and was saying goodbye the manager came back into the front desk area shouting "can I help you can I help you" over and over. I told her I was just dropping off the keys and heading out and saying goodbye to the woman who was kind and felt horrible about the situation. The manger then sarcastically said thank you 5 or 6 times on my way out the door. This is what is wrong with the customer service industry is the ones that get put in charge get on a power trip just because they have the power to say no. The first woman was very kind and you could tell she was embarrassed by the behaviour of her manager. For $500 you would expect at least some professionalism!
