Hall Garth Hotel and Country Club is located just off the A1 at junction 59 set within 70 acres of its own parkland just outside the historic market town of Darlington. There is plenty of free on site parking. All of our rooms offer comfortable accommodation and free WiFi with some rooms in the older part of the main house dating back to the 17th century. The hotel has its own Par 73 golf course on site Stables pub spa/leisure club including an indoor swimming pool together with a steam room JacuzziŽ sauna gymnasium and 3 beauty treatment rooms. Hotel guests have full use of the leisure facilities during their stay and can book the golf course and beauty treatments. Hall Garth Hotel is an ideal base for exploring the region north to Northumberland and Durham and south to York and the Yorkshire Dales with easy access to the motorway you also benefit from the hotel's countryside setting.

Dinner - the food was delicious, well thought out and put together. Excellent wine choice too.

Bad surprise

Disliked: Found a dead mouse in my room on arrival and the bed sheets had stains on them. Did not receive any discount for this inconvenience.

Disliked: Visited before Lockdown 3.0 Pool and Gym were open but the restaurant was closed so had to use on line delivery service. Would have been nice to know that at time of booking

Liked: stayed overnight for work left in the morning as it was lockdown but hotel was pleasant enough
Disliked: nothing as didn't leave the room

Liked: Clean. Comfortable bed. Nice and quiet. Got a great nights sleep before an early start
Disliked: Tea and coffee making facilities were poor. No milk or tea bags in my room and when I asked for some I was only given enough for 2 cups of tea

Excellent stay great location, not...

Liked: Due to covid restrictions there was no restaurant but for breakfast they provided an alternative of a breakfast bag that was left at your door by 7.30 in the morning. The guy on reception gave me options for eating out, places near by or options for ordering. Excellent provisions in this covid circumstances
Disliked: Nothing
