No frills but pleasant

Liked: Pretty gardens, good breakfast and friendly team despite a late / out of hours check in.
Disliked: Not flexible - £50 extra for an early check in is way too much. Tons of messages in the lead up which weren’t all necessary. Our room was so hot (it was 30 degrees + when we stayed), the windows were firmly shut so it would have been nice for a member of the team to air them out ahead of our arrival.

Quiet comfortable but in need...

Liked: Didn’t have breakfast or dinner. Beautiful house and gardens but in bad need of renovating. Carpets in communal areas and stairs dirty and needed hovering. Outside looking dishevelled too
Disliked: The room was quiet, but small and dated, too expensive for what was provided

Wholesome grounds

Liked: Beautiful property, perfect location and lovely grounds.
Disliked: The room was a little dated and could do with a spruce up. The bathroom tap didn’t turn off properly and the toilet seat was broken.

RIP OFF

Liked: junior staff were excellent
Disliked: ripped off for an extra £100 hidden extra charge upon arrival despite having booked prior on booking.com and paid in full

Lovely property in well kept...

Liked: Friendly welcoming staff.Clean accommodation, well maintained garden.
Disliked: Not very eco friendly. Buffet breakfast.No toiletries in our room but this was quickly resolved by helpful receptionist.

Liked: Very little the gentleman who checked us in was polite and affable.
Disliked: Attempted to check in at twenty to three this was not possible as the room was not ready, fully accept check is from three but it took ten minutes to establish this after waiting at an empty reception. The grounds to the hotel are well maintained and even though a wedding was being hosted the rooms remained quite. Overall the building internally is in need of refurbishment. Breakfast is a complete disaster we choose to book this upon arrival, please save your money and go elsewhere, for breakfast (hot) not there are three food warmers which have no provision for heating as such I had one cold sausage mushrooms luke warm and a hash brown when I asked for a fried egg the waiter returned from the kitchen to tell me they only did scrambled on this date. So overall if this is acceptable I wish you all the best.
