Very good

Liked: Friendly staff The room was quiet Great breakfast Lovely gardens we were allowed to walk in
Disliked: The shower was very difficult to set. I could only get very hot water out. The mattress may need turning over to remove a dent where it's been sat on.The duvet was quite thin so it was cold, no heating on

Brilliant. Whenever we’re down near...

Liked: Lovely property with attractive original features. A place of real character. Best of all are the staff who are so friendly. The greeting was - ‘would you like to sit down in the lounge and have some tea or coffee while I take your details’? Shelley and Jess gave us a delicious breakfast and spent time chatting to us afterwards. Just couldn’t do enough for us - or our dogs!

Great value for money, close...

Liked: Fancy lounge area with several chambers, decorated with English old-style furniture. Breakfast was good. Room offered good value for money, peaceful area, wasn't bothered by any noise while resting there. Location is pretty remote and may be difficult to locate the entrance to the ground (we managed to miss it twice) but a short drive to Hastings. Staff was very welcoming and offered us tea on arrival.
Disliked: The room was a bit cold, but with the right heating setting it improved over night. Otherwise nothing to mention.

A little gem!

Liked: What a find! We booked a long way in advance and got a really good rate. Excellent value for money. Great location, it was quiet overnight but very convenient for Hastings. Superb breakfast with lovely ingredients: my full English included hash browns and black pudding. Lovely view from the dining room. The bed was really comfortable, the shower was great. The showerhead was spotless: so often in hotels it needs descaling! The receptionist gave us such a lovely warm welcome, offering us tea or coffee on arrival. I would definitely stay here again.
Disliked: Nothing!

Superb

Liked: Beautiful location, grounds and authentic building. Breakfast was delicious and service was very pleasant. Peaceful, pretty, interesting and lots of space. Welcoming entrance and reception room with log fire, for afternoon tea or nightcap before bed. Wonderful

Feels like the middle of...

Liked: Excellent staff, uber helpful and very accommodating. Beautiful house, great breakfast, I will return when I visit Hastings next.
Disliked: Bed was a bit worn but still slept fine. Few cobwebs in our room. No blackout curtains.

Guestling Hall

Liked: Pleasant rural location handy for visiting nearby Winchelsea, Rye and Hastings. Even though some of the staff were young novices they were helpful and friendly and keen to please. The hotel has lovely reception areas to relax in. My room was spacious and comfortable with a nice en suite shower room. There was parking, although it looked like it would quickly fill up. Good value for money.
Disliked: The evening meal was average. Breakfast was ok.
