Liked: Location was nice. Room size. The lodge grounds were nice.
Disliked: The beds were actually nice bed other than everytime you move it made so much noise, it would wake you up. 2 sets of plugs worked in the whole room.

Need serious renovations

Liked: The room has a full kitchen though this was not something we needed.
Disliked: The facilities are very worn. The entire room needs a complete renovation. From the floors to the ceiling, the furniture to the ac unit even the towels need to be replaced (had holes). The door to the room didn't seal completely with the frame. The fridge wasn't as cold as the inside of our Yeti cooler. When we turned on the water at the kitchen sink it was cloudy brown for a few minutes. We stayed only one night passing through on a girls trip. We wanted to be close to Gruene and wanted a room with 2 separate beds which was a challenge in Gruene on our dates. Their pictures are dated. I can not recommend this motel. We moved onto Fredericksburg for 2 nights and stayed at a motel that far exceeded the quality of Gruene Outpost for only $10 more per night. Gruene Outpost is not deserving of the rate we paid $160 for a night. They need to shutter and renovate the rooms. They were doing landscaping which is not money well spent. The room smelled freshly cleaned but our socks were filthy from the floor. They need new mops too apparently.

Absolutely terrible

Liked: I liked the artwork but that is about it.
Disliked: The walls are paper thin so you can hear everything from the people staying next to you. The toilet did not work properly, my husband called many times to let the property manager know. The staff was extremely rude and even threatened to kick us out of our room. I will NEVER stay at this property again, the worst experience I’ve ever had from a property on booking.com

Liked: There’s wasn’t much that was enjoyable. The only thing was the location and closeness to Gruene.
Disliked: The room itself wasn’t nice as all and it was nothing like the pictures on the website. It was old and dirty. The mattress we’re very worn out. The beds only had a think top sheet with no comforter. There was a blanket at the foot of the bed and when we unfolded it to use it looked dirty. The bathtub was so narrow and small and was pretty dirty and grimy. There was a silverfish crawling around when I took a shower. The stairs outside getting up to our room where very worn and felt like they could fall.
