The grand hotel was grand...

Liked: It's a lovely hotel. Love the style and space the hotel provide for there guests.. the little library is snug and cosy .. the comfortable sofas and fire places... It was a nice stay plus in a great area in easy walking distance to torquay Town.
Disliked: I deducted marks for the broken pipe outside the window that let the running water pour down so loudly outside the window..The zero view of a brick wall, The toilet needing cleaning again.No bottled water in the room and had to use bath tap water to make a tea after a long drive there. They should provide at least 2 bottles on arrival.Dirty stained carpet that made my white socks black and whoever was in the room Opposite kept going in and out there room several times through the night .. presumably to go and smoke outside the hotel.

Disliked: Room décor dated and bed base was very scruffy.

Disliked: This is basically false advertising as the Abbey Sands is closed, you get transferred to the Grand which is no longer actually that Grand anymore and would be a 4 star at best by modern standards. I am now battling a parking charge from the hotel as they outsource the parking and even though I registered my car at reception now face a £100 fine or having to prove my stay...such a waste of time, plenty of other hotels around where this is not an issue
