Great location, average hotel

Liked: I enjoyed the proximity to public transportation and other areas of interest around Berlin. I also enjoyed the spacious room I was provided, which was unexpected for a solo journey. The staff was also helpful when explaining the amenities and location of my room.
Disliked: I was a bit disappointed with the cleanliness of the hotel. My shower drain was clogged with a huge blockage of hair and debris, which I had to remove myself. I also found that, while a tower fan was provided, it did not function well at all. This was upsetting, as the room in which I stayed was very warm. This also paired poorly with the fact that my floors seemed to be heated, which could not be turned off whatsoever. I am unsure if this was intentional or not, but it made the room much warmer than it needed to be. Finally, the WiFi was not very stable and kept disconnecting or becoming incredibly slow, which was unfortunate when I had to use the limited mobile data I am allotted for roaming.

Decent hotel very close to...

Liked: Very good location: 5-7 min walk to the nearest metro station, museum island is also accessible on foot. Big supermarket nearby. Safe quiet very decent area, green, pleasant, no noisy bars around. Quite cozy lobby. In my opinion, very good breakfast. Really good coffee machine, selection of 9 teas including very cool herbal mixes, milk, 3 juices; granola, cornflakes, pancakes, yogurts, chia pudding, selection of jams, honey, syrups; cherry tomatoes, cucumbers, olives; fresh bread of 2 or three types, croissants; selection of ham & salami, cheeses, hard-boiled eggs, scrambled eggs. Cakes, protein bars and waffles. Tried all and all was tasty. Room is clean, pleasant design, wardrobe, place to store luggage. Room cleaning every day. Friendly staff.
Disliked: Glass door to the toilet - honestly, absolutely hate it in each hotel I stay as it gives you zero privacy since the door isn't closing completely. No kettle in the room but you can have a tea downstairs for 3 euros. Teeny-tiny bar soaps: not ideal for people who use contact lenses as it's simply not hygienic. No hair conditioner - quite an essential thing to have in a room. No English channels on TV. But all of this is not a big deal honestly, it's a good hotel.

Lovely and comfortable place with...

Liked: We were 2 colleagues and have rented one bedroom apartment and one double bed room. Both were excellent as facilities, comfort and cleanliness. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful. And I love the design and small references to Grimm's fairytales. Excellent breakfast with all that one may need: from American style pancakes and French croissants to English breakfast or healthy muesli with yoghurt.Nice environment with many pleasant restaurants and just 15 min walk from many sightseeing spots in Berlin
