Liked: Very classy and traditional style
Disliked: Dinner menu was limited and somewhat pricey

Good

Liked: The cottage setting.
Disliked: The walk over gravel to the house - at dusk after dinner.

Understated luxury

Liked: Beautiful hotel in idyllic grounds. Breakfast is excellent. Staff are friendly and helpful. Great base for exploring East Lothian coastline.

Disappointing

Liked: Lovely location and gardens with friendly staff.
Disliked: Room was very tired and in need of an upgrade and refresh.Breakfast was poor - one rasher of streaky bacon which was overcooked, hard tattie scone and tiny portion of haggis with very small mushroom. Disappointing experience given an overnight here is expensive.

Liked: Staff were extremely helpful and friendly and went out of their way to make our visit memorable. Manager was knowledgeable and took time out to explain the history of the hotel which made our visit even more enjoyable

Exceptional

Liked: Everything - loved the serenity so relaxing and the service and comfort was exceptional
Disliked: Nothing
